Republican Party puts on "Black Face"
Apparently, the Republican party is creating and running ads designed to attract African American (AA) voters. From my read of the ads, it looks like the Republican party has stepped into the realm of Black Face.
Here's an example of the dialogue from one of the ads:
I have to say, I find this ad comical. As an AA, I can honestly say, I don't know anyone who refers to females as "hos". The term appears to be part of the entertainment lingo. It's not how anyone I know speaks. I also love that the guy who refers to women as "hos" also drops a French phrase in: "tout suite". I don't think that a person who is sophisticated enough to use "ho" would follow it with "tout suite". Too funny!
BLACK MAN #1: "If you make a little mistake with one of your 'hos,' you'll want to dispose of that problem tout suite, no questions asked."BLACK MAN #2: "That's too cold. I don't snuff my own seed."
BLACK MAN #1: "Maybe you do have a reason to vote Republican.
What I see here is a group of racists that is so removed from AAs that it can't even mimick BVE (Black Vernacular English). What's even funnier is the group has put on its "Black Face" in an attempt to impress us! The group apparently believes we are so ignorant, we can't identify ourselves! It apparently thinks we are so stupid that if you put a black face in front of us, we'll believe anything that spews from its lips!
Here's my response to the Republican party. I'll speak to them in their form of Jive talk--just to make sure they understand:
"Well, Mizta Repulikans, Is so sooree to bustyo bubble, but I don quit talkin lik dis. I don learnta talk lik you. Nes time yous wantin to be talkin ta me, you can use anglish. You should specally talk anglish ta me ifin you be wantin to get mi vote."
